What the Critics say
'Not yet bottled, the 2016 Côte Rôtie La Côte Rozier (97% Syrah and 3% Viognier) sports a saturated purple color as well as rocking notes of crème de cassis, graphite, crushed rocks, and liquid violets. It's rich, full-bodied, powerful, and concentrated, with building tannins and beautiful purity. It's a powerhouse that needs 2-4 years of bottle age and will keep for 2+ decades.'
La Brocarde is a locality of the appellation located in Côte-Brune. The classic steep hillside of La Brocarde is composed of clay and iron oxide along with granite, mica, schist rock and limestone soils giving this wine a dark and tannic profile. A blend of Syrah (97%) and Viognier (3%), La Brocarde undergoes fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks before going into new french barriques for 26 months. Only 200 dozen bottles produced.
