These vines are located in the communes of Ampuis and Saint Cyr in the Rhone Valley. Full bodied, spicy and chock full of red fruits, this is an excellent little taste of the Rhone Valley. The wine sees 18 months in French oak. Only 300 bottles produced.
Christophe Billon has been tending the vines of Cote Rotie for years. His career really began after taking over his fathers modest estate of .017 ha on Cote Rozier. Whilst working as a viticulturist for the Guigals (and also selling the bulk of his grapes to the family) he has built the domaine holdings up to 3.5 ha in Cote Rotie and 1.5 ha of Vdp. Most of his Cote Rotie vines, planted on the schist soils are around 30 years of age with some going back to the original plantings of 1942.
