What the Critics say
Alluring scents of lilac are allied in the nose to intimations of the grapefruit, apple and rhubarb that then dominate on a rich, glossy, expansive yet juicy and invigoratingly tangy palate. Despite 13.7 percent alcohol (nearly as high as its 2011 predecessor), a sense of lift remains that complements the wine’s inner-mouth florality. The succulent, mouthwatering, phenomenally sustained finish is transparent to an almost kaleidoscopic array of stony, crystalline, alkaline, peppery and saline nuances. Drink: 2017-2032 (Feb17)

Northwest of Weissenkirchen. This vineyard is planted with the oldest vines - more than 60 years old. With small bunches yielding small grapes, the overall yield is naturally low. The wines are fermented and matured in wooden barrels.
