The Cantina del Pino Dolcetto has a splendid perfume with ruby and garnet colours with a finesse and an interesting nose... With jammy flavours and a hint of black pepper and a soft background of mineral. A bouquet of fresh summer fruit with good acidity and a full round finish makes this wine a perfect one to pair with food.
The Vacca family has been living and working the vines at Cantina del Pino, one of the oldest estates in Barbaresco, since the 1920s when Giuseppe Vacca, bought the property from his friend, the legendary agronomist and director of the Royal Enological School in Alba, Domizio Cavazza.
The family's vineyards are concentrated around the Ovello hill. The site is known for its combination of cooler microclimate and unique soils blending limestone with sandy veins and a high calcium content, the perfect conditions for an elegant, age-worthy Barbaresco.
