97% Syrah, 3% Viognier. Aged for 26 months in new 228-litre barrels. Cask sample.
Tasted blind. Cedar-led nose from generous oaking, with pepper and violet notes. There is good deep fruit underneath the oaky cloak, cool blue fruit and plummy notes with a saddle-leather and pepper snap. Needs to be left for a few years to integrate the oak, but there is lots to look forward to here. Drink: 2024-2035
