Located in the commune of Vienne under the ruins of the Château de la Bâtie, this parcel was planted in 2006 on the granitic terraces overlooking the Rhone on its left bank. Due to vine age, the wines are lighter than that of Cote Rotie but share some of the classic characteristics of violets, white pepper, and fine elegant tannins. The wine sees 18 months in French oak. Only 1200 bottles produced.

Christophe Billon has been tending the vines of Cote Rotie for years. His career really began after taking over his fathers modest estate of .017 ha on Cote Rozier. Whilst working as a viticulturist for the Guigals (and also selling the bulk of his grapes to the family) he has built the domaine holdings up to 3.5 ha in Cote Rotie and 1.5 ha of Vdp. Most of his Cote Rotie vines, planted on the schist soils are around 30 years of age with some going back to the original plantings of 1942.
