What the Critics say
Opaque ruby. Smoke-accented dark berries, cherry and candied flowers on the highly perfumed nose. Juicy and seamless in texture, offering appealingly sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors that are underscored by a vein of zesty mineral quality. Dusty tannins build steadily on a long, floral-driven finish that leaves a hint of candied violet behind.
From vines in three plots (behind Cornas village church, and in the districts of Les Cotes and Reynard). The grapes are hand-picked; and then sorted, crushed and partially destemmed in the cellar. Fermented in open, temperature-controlled vats for about 3 weeks, with regular cap-punching and pumping-over. Malolactic-fermented in barriques with native yeasts.
