What the Critics say
If the nose of the Kabinett and Spätlese were still significantly shaped by a herbal influence, the fragrance of the Auslese entices with a delightful composition of floral and citrus fruit aromas. Hints of lanolin and honey just drift across the olfactory perception. On the palate the ripeness of mostly tropical-fruit flavours borders on raisiny concentration, its sweet generosity barely contained by juicy acidity. Despite its low alcohol, an almost liqueur-like liquid. A delicate bitter piquancy on the finish reflects a valid effort by herbal and mineral compounds to make their contribution to the overall expression. Drink: 2021-2035.
