What the Critics say
Made from 110-year-old vines and aged in old demi-muids, the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet features elegant notes of roses and black tea set against ripe raspberries. It's full-bodied, silky-textured and has an almost delicate feel in the mouth, then finishes long, with hints of licorice.
(Formerly labelled as Font de Michelle)
This wine is a special tribute to Jeanne Gonnet, wife of Etienne Gonnet who created the Font de Michelle estate. It is only released in the most exceptional years. Rich and opulent wine with a big aromatic complexity (black cherry, blackberry, cocoa, bay, black pepper and liquorice), pure and elegant.
Domaine Font de Michelle owns 27 hectares of vines in the Chateauneuf region. Like many estates, the soils and terroirs are spread-out and varied, with different soils. Their best land is situated on the famous La Crau plateau.
