What the Critics say
The 2018 Chorey-lès-Beaune les Beaumonts, from purchased grapes, has attractive blackberry and raspberry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and quite minerally, showing impressive precision on the finish. Recommended. Drink: 2021-2032.

Hugues Pavelot, of Domaine Jean-Marc & Hugues Pavelot (see immediately below), also runs a small négociant operation. The idea is to buy in fruit at fair prices when opportunities present themselves and he knows both the vigneron and the specific parcel of vines. He notes that he makes the wines in exactly the same fashion as he does those of the domaine. The wines are distributed by the same importers that represent the domaine; for details on the 2019 vintage, please see the domaine write-up immediately below.
