Le Macchiole is a story of men and human endeavour – and of one man in particular. With dogged perseverance, Eugenio learned to appreciate and ‘feel’ the land, respecting and interpreting it with great talent and sensitivity. Thanks to his serious effort and determination, Le Macchiole became a point of reference for Bolgheri, which is one of the most celebrated oenological areas in Italy today.
'The 2014 Bolgheri Rosso is fresh, perfumed and lively in the glass. Sweet floral notes meld into a core of bright fruits in a super-expressive, polished 2014 Bolgheri Rosso that will drink well right out of the gate. Naturally, the 2014 is not as opulent as other recent vintages, but it is quite pretty and expressive. This is a fabulous wine for the vintage.'
