What the Critics say
'Light yellow-gold. Powerful scents of peach, pear nectar and Meyer lemon pick up honey and smoky mineral nuances as the wine opens up. Broad and fleshy but energetic on the palate, offering concentrated, mineral-laced orchard and pit fruit flavors and a suggestion of bitter citrus pith. Smooth and expansive on the seamless, persistent finish, which leaves behind honey and dried pear notes. Drink: 2022-2030'
Marc Sorrel took over the Sorrel Domaine from his father in 1982. While he was thrown headfirst into the deep end after his father’s death Marc has managed to create a brand that can consider itself to be an outstanding producer of refined, traditional Hermitage wines. Marc is a fierce traditionalist and his philosophy is non-interventionist, which is reflected in the style of wine he makes – full, well structured and long lived.
