What the Critics say
Raw meat and perfume of lavender, white pepper and blackcurrant, sweet smell of new leather – almost a new car thing happening here. Medium bodied, fresh blackberry and blackcurrant, cool minerally acidity and fine peppery powdery tannin, savoury but a bit juicy with it. Finish is cool, clean and spicy. Good, and something a little different with it.
Crimson in colour and in flavour. Underneath a layer of white pepper on top, there is a waft of red: cranberry and pomegranate which continues to the palate, where the wine slips easily. There is a delicious savouriness, completely unlike its warmer counterparts. Age will soften acid and food makes this wine sing.
