97 pts The Wine Front "This feels like a very different release of Block 5, even more symphonic, sure, there’s a lot of that always going on with this wine, but around central Bindi Block 5 thematics, dark fruit, finesse, power, texture, structure, there’s something almost avant garde here – high toned floral and peppery/mezcal notes, lavish garrigue characters, amaro too. It’s a wine that seems vividly complex and shape-shifted dramatically over four days open. Perfume is wild, brambly, sweet-sour fruits and light woody spice. The palate is silky but in a way that feels brushed the wrong way, in the best sense, where tannins overlap and grip gently. Flavours roll to infinity too. It’s intellectual wine in the best sense, delicious no doubt, but gives you moments of pause to check in. Then you remember this is grapes, from dirt, in a place. That too. How does it end up so interesting and good?" - Mike Bennie
96pts Huon Hooke "Medium to light red colour with a tinge of purple in the rim. The aromas are earthy plum and almost beetroot, with some forest undergrowth sub-notes. Sweeter strawberry and red cherry emerged more with airing. The wine is light-bodied and very intense, with red fruit, red licorice and subtle Campari flavours, a wine of real finesse and grace. A really delicious pinot." - The Real Review
