    Description

A reliable and easy to drink Shiraz. Aged primarily in older American and French oak, unlike most entry level wines which are aged in tank with oak ‘alternatives’. Bottled earlier than the other Tim Smith Shiraz wines to provide a wine that is fruit forward, with the older oak providing a countering oak tannin balance to the palate.

    What The Critics Say
"A wine for all occasions, this is such a reliable, go-to red. A blend of Barossa Shiraz parcels, caramel and chocolate immediately leap from the glass – there is some Caramello Koala appeal here to. Generous with cedary oak and handfuls of fruit, the sweet woodsy spices add moreish appeal. The fruit is dense, dark and walks with a charismatic hustle. For the money, you’d be happy this was in your glass and even happier if you had a slice of prosciutto di parma pizza in the other hand.”

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Tim Smith Wines

These days, Tim Smith Wines is one of Australia’s most awarded boutique wineries. Tim’s wines have collected medals all over Australia and around the world, and in 2019, he won the coveted Barons of the Barossa Winemaker of the Year award. It was a meaningful one for Tim, who feels deeply connected to the region. Tim’s wines include Barossa superstars Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro, as well as Viognier and Riesling from neighbouring Eden Valley. He sources grapes from some of the best vineyards in the Barossa, working closely with the families who tend them. “My approach to making great wine is to get good grape growers, because they do the hard work; they understand that stuff,” says Tim. “And then, in the winery, it’s kind of a hands-off approach. We don’t overwork the wines.
