What the Critics say
The tartness and chew of rhubarb, combined with the cyanic glow of apple pips and an incisive sprinkling of crushed stone and white pepper, make for a slightly austere but highly invigorating performance. Sweet pea adds crunch and subtle suggestions of sweetness en route to the energetic and prolonged finish. This needs time to calm down. It will be very interesting to see whether it can eventually achieve greater harmony such as its Hochrain counterpart already exhibits. Drink: 2017-2026 (Feb16)

Northwest of Weissenkirchen. This vineyard is planted with the oldest vines - more than 60 years old. With small bunches yielding small grapes, the overall yield is naturally low. The wines are fermented and matured in wooden barrels.
