NOTE: an assemblage of parcels, including 60% from the cooler, minerally Pernand side of the appellation. ‘(from three parcels on the Aloxe-Corton side, where there was very little frost): Bright, light yellow. Citrus zest and clove on the nose, with some new oak showing. Concentrated and nicely delineated, with its citrus fruit, crushed rock and salty mineral flavors conveying a strong impression of soil. At once dense and light on its feet, with a medicinal menthol note carrying through the wine to its building, lightly tannic, palate-saturating finish. This energetic Corton-Charlemagne, which was too reduced to taste a year ago from barrel, is a pleasant surprise but it calls for patience.’
