Opaque ruby. Highly perfumed, displaying scents of fresh dark berries, olive and violet, backed by a peppery spice quality. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering gently sweet blackberry and cherry cola flavors and a spicy jolt of cracked pepper. Fine-grained tannins sneak in late and fold smoothly into juicy dark fruit on the long finish. Drink: 2020-2027 (Mar16)

Cuilleron's Bassenon Cote Rotie has an elegant bouquet that mixes Syrah’s red berry fruits with Viognier’s floral character (violets). It is  elegant, fresh and a little airy on the palate with subtle yet prominent tannins. The grapes are picked from Cuilleron's small piece of south-facing terraced vines on Coteau de Semons, in Tupin-Semons commune. Drink for the primary aromas during the first 5 years, or for the secondary aromas after 10 years.
