Opaque ruby. Expressive blackberry, cherry, olive paste and smoky bacon scents are lifted by a peppery quality. Juicy dark fruit and violet pastille flavors show very good energy and become sweeter with air. Rich but lively and well-balanced, showing strong finishing thrust and supple tannins that add shape and gentle grip. Drink: 2022-2029 (Apr18)

Cuilleron's Bassenon Cote Rotie has an elegant bouquet that mixes Syrah’s red berry fruits with Viognier’s floral character (violets). It is  elegant, fresh and a little airy on the palate with subtle yet prominent tannins. The grapes are picked from Cuilleron's small piece of south-facing terraced vines on Coteau de Semons, in Tupin-Semons commune. Drink for the primary aromas during the first 5 years, or for the secondary aromas after 10 years.
