What the Critics say
Saturated ruby. Black raspberry, licorice, smoky minerals and pungent flowers on the highly fragrant nose. Bright, juicy and sweet in the mouth; refreshing acidity gives lift to clear, intense red and dark berry liqueur flavors. The fresh, smoky and very long finish offers intense mineral and spice notes, and fine-grained tannins add grip. Drink: 2020-2027 (Mar16)

Cuilleron's Madinere posses a pleasant, moreish nose of dark fruits, roasted notes and a slight menthol on the finish. The palate is harmonious and juicy with a fresh, sprightly finish. It ends with subtle, silky tannins. These grapes come a small south/southeast parcel to the north of Cote Rotie and are grown on the classic shist soils. Madiniere can be drunk for the primary fruit aromas during the first 5 years or after 10 years for the seconday flavours.
