What the Critics say
(aged in 50% new oak for 18 months): Youthful purple. Spicy blackberry and blueberry on the nose, complicated by a lively floral note. Dense, sappy and sharply focused, offering spicy dark berry flavors with hints of espresso and bitter chocolate. Finishes with impressive power and cut, silky tannins and a sexy violet pastille quality. (Mar16)

Cuilleron's Madinere posses a pleasant, moreish nose of dark fruits, roasted notes and a slight menthol on the finish. The palate is harmonious and juicy with a fresh, sprightly finish. It ends with subtle, silky tannins. These grapes come a small south/southeast parcel to the north of Cote Rotie and are grown on the classic shist soils. Madiniere can be drunk for the primary fruit aromas during the first 5 years or after 10 years for the seconday flavours.
