What the Critics say
Deep, brilliant magenta. High-pitched, minerally dark berry and floral scents are complicated by suggestions of black pepper and allspice. Offers intense, spice-laced blackberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors that deepen and pick up a sweet hint of salty olive with air. The lively, emphatically fruity finish displays impressive clarity and supple, even tannins that add shape and gentle grip.

Cuilleron's Madinere posses a pleasant, moreish nose of dark fruits, roasted notes and a slight menthol on the finish. The palate is harmonious and juicy with a fresh, sprightly finish. It ends with subtle, silky tannins. These grapes come a small south/southeast parcel to the north of Cote Rotie and are grown on the classic shist soils. Madiniere can be drunk for the primary fruit aromas during the first 5 years or after 10 years for the seconday flavours.
