"Kerri Thompson is Australia's Riesling Queen." - Australian Wine

Wines by KT is a privately owned and operated small winery by winemaker Kerri Thompson (KT) based in the Watervale district of the Clare Valley in South Australia, specialising in Riesling and also creating Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. All the wines by KT are made from small, lovingly cared for parcels of fruit from dry grown, organically or biodynamically farmed vineyards in the 5452 area and have traditional techniques used in their creation.

THE REGION - CLARE VALLEY, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Compared to other Australian wine regions, Clare Valley is small, accounting for only 21,500 tonnes of grapes each year, yet our wines can be found on restaurant wine lists - and in private cellars - around the world. Colder nights, elevated sites, and ideal slate and stone soil types all contribute to the Clare Valley's success with Riesling. I've been lucky enough to work with some great local families over the years - Peglidis, Castine, Koerner and Pearson just to name a few many of which have been busy growing grapes for decades. -
