    Description

The 2019 Barbaresco has a slender, almost fragile personality with small berry tones, wild strawberry and blueberry. The effect is very beautiful, especially the melting tannins that characterize the mouthfeel. The wine is fermented in oak and stainless steel and matures in large oak casks for 24 months. This is a production of 12,000 bottles.

This whole portfolio from Cantina del Pino is terrific, with top-notch expressions of Nebbiolo that are fine and fragile.

    Description

"Rose, botanical herb, underbrush and leather aromas mingle with whiffs of woodland berry. The linear, austere palate offers sour cherry, blood orange and licorice alongside bright acidity fine-grained, rather drying tannins. It closes on an almost salty note." - Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast.com

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Cantina del Pino

The Vacca family has been living and working the vines at Cantina del Pino, one of the oldest estates in Barbaresco, since the 1920s when Giuseppe Vacca, bought the property from his friend, the legendary agronomist and director of the Royal Enological School in Alba, Domizio Cavazza.

The family's vineyards are concentrated around the Ovello hill. The site is known for its combination of cooler microclimate and unique soils blending limestone with sandy veins and a high calcium content, the perfect conditions for an elegant, age-worthy Barbaresco.
