(Formerly bottled as Font de Michelle) Grown in the La Crau sector, This wine is a selection of Grenache grapes from century-old vines harvested when they are on the verge of becoming over-matured. Syrah and Mourvèdre vine stocks are also part of the wine’s makeup. Aged in large oak foudres and small new barrels.

What The Critics Say
The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Etienne Gonnet carries a bit more dark fruit and concentration than the regular bottling, but it remains a silky, fine and elegant wine for drinking over the next decade or so. Subtle toast and vanilla notes frame ripe cherries in this full-bodied yet supple, easy-to-drink wine.

Font de Michelle has undergone a name change and all wines will now carry the Font du Vent label. The Font De Michelle estate, created in 1950, is composed of 30ha in Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC and complemented by Font Du Vent and its 20ha of Côtes du Rhône. The Font De Michelle and Font Du Vent wines are elegant and powerful wines elaborated on an exceptional terroir. ‘This domaine should be much more famous than it is.
