98 Points, James Suckling, June 2024 "Staggering nose of red fruit with fascinating mineral and meaty undertones. Gigantic concentration on the medium- to full-bodied palate, the power tightly reined in, but nonetheless driving the extremely long and precise finish that has great stony expression. A cuvee of wines from the granitic Les Bressards section of the hill of Hermitage and lower lying vineyards with more clay in the soil. 100% whole cluster fermentation, then bottled unfiltered and unfined. Drink from 2026."
Marc Sorrel took over the Sorrel Domaine from his father in 1982. While he was thrown headfirst into the deep end after his father’s death Marc has managed to create a brand that can consider itself to be an outstanding producer of refined, traditional Hermitage wines. Marc is a fierce traditionalist and his philosophy is non-interventionist, which is reflected in the style of wine he makes – full, well structured and long lived.
