    Description

The 2022 Chablis Fourchaume ler Cru comes from 54-year-old vines and sees a ten-month élevage. The nose sports a clever, discrete reduction, well-defined and energetic, with touches of dried honey, wet stone and oyster shells. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity, good concentration and a judiciously spiced, quite persistent finish. This deserves a hearty round of applause. Drink: Now-2034

    What The Critics Say
"I like the excellent verve suffusing the middleweight flavors that possess good minerality that adds a sense of lift to the nicely dry, lengthy and equally well-balanced finale."

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Seguinot-Bordet

Domaine Séguinot-Bordet dates back to the 1590’s and is now managed by the young Jean-François Bordet who has recently taken over from his grandfather Roger Séguinot. Most of the 16 hectares of vineyards are located on the right bank of the serein river benefiting from a perfect south / south-east exposition. Jean-François Bordet practises coolish fermentation and allows his wines to mature for 3-5 months on their lees; this maximises the contact and promotes a luscious style to the wines. His approach is clearly contemporary, but it delivers very stylish wines which fully express both the fruit and terroir. Made in a sparkling new wine cellar, the wines are fermented and aged in horizontal temperature controlled tanks (imagine a normal wine tank laying on it’s side) to maximise lees contact.
