Molino a Vento Nerello Mascalese Rosato 2019
$25.00
Description
A delightful Rosato from Sicily, Italy! Agile and mineral. From the sandy soils of Western Sicily comes a monovarietal from Nerello Mascalese grapes. The contact with the skins lasts for a few hours, at a controlled temperature, in order to obtain a slight release of color before the fermentation process. An eclectic wine by nature, an ideal companion for any occasion: from aperitif to brunch, but also for lunch with friends. The Nerello Mascalese Rosato by Tenute Orestiadi is characterized by its broad bouquet, with fruity scents of blood orange and grapefruit that blend well with the aromaticity of thyme. A pleasant sensation of sapidity and freshness on the palate makes every sip an experience to be repeated. It goes well with busiate alla trapanese, aged cheeses and grilled mushrooms. Also good with appetizers and seafood main courses. The name Nerello Mascalese originates from Mascali, a small village in the foothills of Mount Etna. Grown on black, silt rich, compacted soils 500 metres above sea level. Nerello Mascalese is at home at the high altitude and gives wines that are fragrant and mineral-driven. This rosato has beautiful aromas of strawberry and raspberry, then a signature volcanic soil minerality on the palate. The wine finishes cleanly with a lick of that strawberry fruit remaining.
