    Description

Calcareous limestone with sandy veins. From 250m to 290m above sea level. Grown in Barbaresco and aged for eight months in stainless steel this wine has all the fruity and spicy characteristics of a traditional Barbaresco, but it is meant to be consumed young. Complex and smooth with good structure of fruit and tannins.

89 Points, Vinous, com "The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo is a pretty, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. There's a lovely mid-palate richness to the forward fruit, and yet my impression is that the 2023 is still coming together following its bottling a few months prior to this tasting. Most of this fruit is from Ovello, which comes through in floral, savory and mineral nuances that open on the finish." By Antonio Gallani on September 2024

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Cantina del Pino

The Vacca family has been living and working the vines at Cantina del Pino, one of the oldest estates in Barbaresco, since the 1920s when Giuseppe Vacca, bought the property from his friend, the legendary agronomist and director of the Royal Enological School in Alba, Domizio Cavazza.

The family's vineyards are concentrated around the Ovello hill. The site is known for its combination of cooler microclimate and unique soils blending limestone with sandy veins and a high calcium content, the perfect conditions for an elegant, age-worthy Barbaresco.
