95 Points, The Wine Front "A 50/50 blend with both varieties co-fermented. Pear and melon, lightly nutty and honeyed, chamomile, fennel. It has flesh but it’s still fine and bright, feels stony, has a juiciness to acidity, and finishes savoury with a twist of citrus and excellent length. Textbook stuff."

    Description

Domenica Estate Roussanne Marsanne is organically grown at 450m on Beechworth’s famous granite soil. There are two rows each of Roussanne and Marsanne planted in 1996.

The two varieties were handpicked as a field blend in equal proportions.

Rich ‘white gold’ in colour. Aromas of nashi pear, jasmine and honey. Medium-bodied, quietly powerful with fruit ripeness extending the length. Youthful acidity drives the wine. Those with the patience to cellar will be rewarded.

Unfiltered and sealed under Diam with wax.

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Domenica

Domenica is the project Peter Graham, who worked for 13 years with the top winery in Beechworth. The 4 hectares vineyard is located six kilometres south west of Beechworth, adjacent to the renowned Warner vineyard, at an altitude of around 550 metres. The soil is granitic, and the exposure is varied, from steep southerly slopes for the chardonnay, to a gentler north easterly aspect for the marsanne, roussanne.
