Backwards flavours of vanilla orchid, grapefruit and apple share the glass with firm notes of wet stone and dried herbs, all held in place by steely acidity. The finish shows a more affable side, bringing softer floral notes and a touch of white peach to bear. Two Terraces Vineyard, located in Maraekakaho district of Hawke’s Bay.
Elevation: 105 metres
Aspect: Flat River Terraces
Soil: Deep Red Gravels
Year Planted: 2016
Clone/Rootstock: 40% 220, 60% 880 on 3309 rootstock
Viticulture: 3030 vines/ha, Cane pruned, vertically shoot positioned
Fermentation: 100% whole bunch pressed to concrete stone egg tank.
Post Ferment: Left on yeast lees. Spring malolactic ferment.
Maturation: 11 months in Cast Stone concrete egg and used French
Barriques.
Finishing: No fining, fine pad filtration, bottled on site.
