From a 20 year old vineyard in Verduno at 250 metres.

17++ Points, Jancis Robinson "Lustrous mid ruby. Intense, deep and multi-layered cherry on the nose. Tightly knit fruit and fantastic chewy tannins on the palate. Great balance but the firm structure demands more time while the fruit is still curled up. Lots of potential."

94-96 Points, Vinous.com "The 2021 Barolo San Lorenzo di Verduno is a wine of translucence, elegance and finesse. Bright acids cut through a core of red/purplish fruit, chalk, slate, crushed rocks and white pepper. Rose petal, blood orange peel and mint resonate on the high-toned, intensely saline finish. San Lorenzo is often a potent Barolo, but in 2021, it comes across as especially finessed. Drink 2028-2045" - Antonio Galloni, Jan 2025

95 Points, JebDunnuck.com "The 2021 Barolo San Lorenzo Di Verduno is a medium red in color and has pretty aromatics that gain more depth with aromas of preserved raspberries, delicate notes of fresh leather, pressed flowers, and chalky earth. The palate is both approachable and refined, but the wine has structure to age and feels like it’s going to have a very wide window for enjoyment over the coming decades. A beautiful expression of this wine, the tannins are refined and the wine more seamless, accented with refreshing acidity and a long finish, and it’s very pure all the way through. Drink: 2025-2045"  Audry Frick, May 2025

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Fratelli Alessandria

The Alessandria family since the mid-19th century has called this gentle landscape home. In 1870, when the family first established their farm, calling it Fratelli Alessandria, Verduno was the center of Barolo winemaking—it was here where families first crafted dry Nebbiolo wines in the style we know today, and also bottled wines individually instead of shipping in cask. Because of this, the village was internationally recognized as the face of Barolo and sought out by collectors across the European continent. What Verduno gives is exactly what we crave in our Barolo wines: complexity without heaviness, structure with finesse. The Alessandria family provides a “mirror to the landscape,” Vittore says, respecting the history of their forefathers yet “looking ahead” to ensure that what’s in each bottle reflects the true essence of Barolo from Verduno.
