This has it all—old vine intensity complemented by the bright, tense style. Cherry aromas carry through to the palate with pure, cherry flavour, a clean slice of tannin and granitic energy. 

From the man who made the three-wheeler tractor famous, Laurent Savoye, under the Domaine des Combiers, farms 9 hectares of some of the steepest granitic slopes in the region. From his 100-year-old vines he fashions supple, silky reds made from the gamay grape. Hand harvested and cropped at low yields, his wines undergo a traditional, warm vinification that rises to 50 degrees Celsius over 24 hours to allow for maximum extraction of texture, colour, and aroma.
