Domaine Seguinot-Bordet Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2024

Description
OUTSTANDING TOP VALUE 89-91 Points by Allen Meadows: "Here a more restrained nose is compositionally similar to the straight Chablis with perhaps just a smidgeon more wood influence in evidence. The super-sleek, delicious and intense medium-bodied flavors possess more volume and mid-palate density while exhibiting fine length on the balanced, clean and attractively dry finale. This too could use better depth so again a few years of keeping should prove beneficial." - Burghound.com, Oct 2025
Domaine Séguinot-Bordet dates back to the 1590’s and is now managed by Jean-François Bordet who has recently taken over from his grandfather Roger Séguinot. Most of the 16 hectares of vineyards are located on the right bank of the serein river benefiting from a perfect south / south-east exposition. Jean-François Bordet practises coolish fermentation and allows his wines to mature for 3-5 months on their lees; this maximises the contact and promotes a luscious style to the wines. His approach is clearly contemporary, but it delivers very stylish wines which fully express both the fruit and terroir. Made in a sparkling new wine cellar, the wines are fermented and aged in horizontal temperature controlled tanks (imagine a normal wine tank laying on it’s side) to maximise lees contact.
