2025 Spring Seed 'Poppy' Pinot Grigio

Light, crisp wine with a gentle nose of pear and citrus. Its smooth and silk-like texture makes for a highly appealing style. Fresh nose showing pear, cut grass and wholesome apple pie! Pretty lemon and lime on the palate with a juicy, fresh finish.

    2025 Battle of Bosworth Chardonnay

A delicious, complex and full-flavoured Chardonnay with nut, stone fruit and a hint of citrus on the nose. “This ticks the boxes for all styles of Chardonnay drinkers; its zesty enough to keep it tight-wired but generous and round as well. A very good value wine.” 92 pts Shanteh Wale, The Vintage Journal

2025 Spring Seed ‘Morning Bride’ Rose

“Light salmon-pink colour. Strawberry and grapefruit aromas. Palate has a bright red fruit sweetness on entry then grapefruit pith brings balancing texture and vibrancy. Good length and bone dry to the end. A good value, fresh and crisp rosé for summer.” 90pts The Real Reviews: Top Value + Recommended Wine

2024 Battle of Bosworth ‘Expat’ Pinot Noir

“On the nose, there are fragrances of sour cherry and florals, while the light to medium weight palate is both poised and expressive, with lovely red fruits delivered with a slight savoury truffly character. It’s quite bright and brilliant, with a chalky, slightly grainy texture adding tremendous appeal. It only got a small amount of oak in the maturation stage, so it’s a rather precise expression of the variety. Very appealing.” 92 pts Ray Jordan Wine Pilot

2024 Battle of Bosworth ‘Puritan’ Shiraz PRESERVATIVE FREE

“Organic estate fruit fermented in tank and bottled after mlf, with no sulphur employed. This is such a joyous wine, unencumbered by oak, a full buoyant expression of lovingly grown fruit. There should be more like it. Untrammelled by winemaking, this is a riot of violet, lilac, boysenberry, blackberry, blueberry, lavender and iodine, with hints of salted licorice, cola, gingerbread and a tarry mineral-like note. But this is no gushing fruit bomb, with tannins matched to effusiveness, and the general feel medium in heft and savoury in conclusion. This is really very lovely.” 95 pts GOLD Halliday Wine Companion

2022 Spring Seed ‘Cockscomb’ Cabernet Sauvignon

“Bright red-purple colour of good depth; earthy, meaty and berry-ish aromas which are slightly heady, the palate is soft, fleshy and a smidgin syrupy, before a wave of earthy tannins rides in. There are deep-seated blackberry flavours and the wine has potential. Pretty smart cabernet.” 90 pts Huon Hooke, The Real Review, Feb 2025

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Battle Of Bosworth

5 Star Winery Award in Halliday Wine Companion 2026

Battle of Bosworth was established in 2001 by Joch Bosworth and Louise Hemsley-Smith on vineyards planted by Joch’s parents in the 1970’s. The wines take their name from the original Battle of Bosworth, fought on Bosworth Field, Leicestershire, England in 1485. Battle of Bosworth make wines with flavour, texture, purity and balance, that best express the unique characteristics of their McLaren Vale foothills site. Joch’s vision and commitment to organic viticulture has underpinned the success of the Bosworth Wines business, capitalising on the rising consumer interest in organics over the last two decades.

They also make the Spring Seed Wine Co range of wines, which as with the Bosworth wines, are made using organically grown grapes from our McLaren Vale vineyards. Joch likes to call it our parallel label.
