    Description

Tasting Notes: Aromatics of violet, spice and earth. This wine unfurls with time, allowing more generous sweet red fruits to emerge and giving way to a smooth and savoury finish. We
practice gentle unobtrusive winemaking that allows our wines to age considerably. Drink: now to 2034.

Source: Dales Vineyard Rosevears 20 years old Pointe Rapide Estate 6 years old.

Viticulture: This wine is a blend of older and young vine fruit from two vineyards situated 20kms apart but both a stones throw from the Tamar river which moderates their growing season ,so it is long and cool. After three cool years it was lovely to see some sunshine which allowed some rachis ripeness and whole bunch inclusion of 15%.

Winemaking: Fruit was brought into the winery in late March. The young vine clones of MV6 and 777 were low yielding and small berries so were destemmed to small opens. The older
fruit Abel and was partially whole bunched with destemmed fruit over the top. Punch downs twice per day with natural fermentation and put to French oak barriques and hogs heads at dryness. Natural malo in spring. The wine was blended to tanks after 11 months and bottled in April 2025.

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Beautiful Isle / Marion's Vineyard

Beautiful Isle Wines are a tribute to the vibrant apple crate art of Tasmania’s Apple Isle hey day. The labels are bright and expressive and so are the wines. We started this wine on our family estate at Marion's Vineyard which was once an apple and pear orchard dating back to the 1800’s. The old apple shed on the property housed boxes full of apple labels for negociants who purchased fruit and then sent it off to England by boat. After making a curry of a wine from estate varieties that was too good to sell as clean skin we came up with the Beautiful Isle range which are delightful, affordable wines that are drink now!
