The vines grow in a mix of ancient Ordovician soils and volcanic slopes in the Macedon Ranges, farmed with sustainable, low-intervention methods and intensive handwork. In the winery, natural fermentations, long lees ageing, and gentle handling capture the seasonal expression of this remarkable landscape.

The Block 5 Pinot Noir is sourced from their 1992 "high-density" vineyard planting. Fruit is fermented in open vats and matured in French oak barrels of which 35% are new for a period of 15-17 months. In recent years, Bindi has intentionally reduced Block 5's yields by approximately 30% to enhance the quality of the fruit.
