"Seriously good Shiraz" - Huon Hooke, The Real Review, Oct 2025
96 Points, Halliday Wine Companion"The bright garnet colour is ridiculously youthful. Heady with spice and pepper, very floral, with some spicy woodsy notes. The medium-bodied palate fills with fruit compote, plums and warm earth, while light, sandy tannins and fine acidity flow through. A lovely savoury wine." - Jul 2026
Description
The “Eadie” is made from fruit grown in our paddock on the southern side of Jacksons Creek, named for the family who first planted vines on the spot in 1863.
“The excellent shiraz produced at the picturesque old Craiglee estate on Melbourne’s north-western fringe is justifiably famous. It’s also one of Australia’s most age-worthy chardonnays, impressively taking on subtle complexities over the years while retaining lovely freshness.” THE REAL REVIEW

ABOUT THIS BRAND
Craiglee Vineyards
ONE OF AUSTRALIA’S MOST RESPECTED WINERIES
Patrick and Dianne Carmody stand as the proprietors of Craiglee, their renowned estate in Sunbury, a place that has earned legendary status over an impressive span of 40 years. Anything but conventional, Patrick holds his wine back longer than most (particularly the reds), which grants their wines a touch of maturity and an approachable nature right from the moment of release.
"What the Carmody family has achieved since it replanted an historic vineyard site in '76 is as unlikely as it is remarkable. In a largely unheralded region, and surrounded by burgeoning housing estates, it has consistently produced spicy, peppery, medium-weight shiraz of the highest quality and character, in the process establishing itself among the best of the best producers in Australia. Craiglee’s reputation is long-held but, if anything, it continues to rise." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Companion
