    Description

Made from 100% Jacquère; a clean and fresh white variety grown in Savoie, France. The stoniness of the vineyards expresses an alpine freshness and lively minerality.
André and son Michel have been recognised for many years as pioneers of Savoie showcases wines of extreme purity.  Highlighted by aromas of florals, citrus notes and a certain minerality. The palate offers tension, freshness and purity.

''Savoie is a beautiful region where grown on slopes on the French Alps. The wines are not that well known outside of France or even outside of Savoie. Jacquère has a good acidity, freshness and a nose of citrus and acacia.'' Britt Karlsson, Forbes.com

The Savoie is a picture of fairy-tale perfection: snow-capped peaks, rolling hills, and sparkling mountain streams. This idyllic region is where Michel Quenard farms twenty-two hectares of vineyards along the steep slopes around Chignin. The domaine was started in the 1930s by Michel's grandfather. Though he slowly increased his vineyard holdings, he mostly sold off his wine. It wasn’t until 1960 that Michel’s father, André, began bottling under their own label. Michel joined the domaine in 1976. Today, he is joined by his sons, Guillaume and Romain.

    Description

''Savoie is France’s smallest wine region and is known for its zippy white wines, whose light, fresh characters have made them undeniable crowd-pleasers. Altesse and Jacquère are the star performers in the region’s mountain vineyards.'' - Gilbert & Gaillard France Guide
