The 2019 Gabin et Félix Richoux Irancy 'Veaupessiot' is a highly regarded, biodynamic Pinot Noir from Burgundy, earning 92 points for its brilliant, succulent, and aromatic profile. It features notes of red cherries, raspberries, rose petals, and savory earth, with a silky texture and fine, integrated tannins suitable for drinking between 2021–2035.
Description
Gabin and Felix Richoux’s family has been farming in Irancy since 1610. The 11th generation siblings assume control from their father, Thierry, and are continuing the tradition of complex and beautiful wines.
Irancy’s northern location is merely kilometers from Chablis, with limestone ridden land that creates unique Pinot Noir bottlings. Vineyards can be steep, and form a dramatic amphitheater around the village itself.
Harvest is done manually, with extensive sorting in both the vineyard and cellar. Grapes are completely destemmed for a slow fermentation with native yeasts. A 26 month elevage follows – two months in steel and 24 months in 300L tuns.
Tasting Notes: Complex with rich red fruits and unique texture – a racy long finish.

"The 2019 Irancy Veaupessiot contains a little new oak as this was a slightly larger volume. It is quite similar to the Les Cailles on the nose with redcurrant and raspberry fruit, touches of rose petal and sous-bois. The palate is very poised with a silky smooth entry, lightly spiced with a dash of white pepper towards the finish that lingers tenderly in the mouth. Bon vin. Tasted at the domaine."

The Richoux family has been growing grapes in the picturesque village since 1610 Irancy. Brothers Gabin and Felix, the 11th generation, have 20 hectares of (kimmeridgian) vineyards spread across the entire appellation. The Richoux's are also one of the only producers in the appellation who work organically and biodynamically, a real challenge in this northern and often inhospitable climate. They received their official biodynamic certification from the 2021 harvest
