"The wines matured in sherry casks (botas) and have an orange label, as is the case with the 2020 Chibusque, a pure Diego, or Vijariego Blanco, from centenary vines planted in the zone that gives the wine its name, in the village of Tisalaya. This has a very different profile, more reductive and with strong aromas of curry and smoke. The whole clusters were pressed in a vertical press, and the juice was put in a sherry butt (that was used for Manzanilla before) to ferment, and it was kept there with the lees and everything, without racking, for eight months, during which time it underwent malolactic fermentation. The barrel was topped up, and there was no flor here. It has 11.8% alcohol and very good acidity and freshness; it's dry and sharp and finishes with a smoky note. 1,020 bottles were filled in June 2021."

Puro Rofe is a family-run winery based in Lanzarote, one of Spain's Canary Islands, where vineyards are planted in black volcanic ash formed by historic eruptions. The estate works predominantly with old, ungrafted vines of indigenous varieties such as Listán Blanco, Malvasía Volcánica and Listán Negro, many grown in the island's distinctive hoyo vineyards—shallow craters dug into the volcanic soils and protected by semicircular stone walls from the Atlantic winds. Through low-intervention winemaking, Puro Rofe produces wines that reflect the island's unique volcanic terroir, combining freshness, mineral character and remarkable precision.
We offer free shipping to most of Australia for all orders over $199 or $12 flat rate for orders under. Some regional areas may incur an extra shipping charge which is calculated at checkout based on your postcode.
