Domaine Quenard Les Roches Blanches Chignin Savoie Bergeron Roussanne 2023
$58.00
Description
This beautifully refined, tenderly floral, and succulent Roussanne with aromas of peach, apricots and minerals is born from pure stone; is one chosen site in the French Alps and a family’s laborious dedication to eking out a most genuine elixir from Savoie’s towering mountain facades.
''Savoie is a beautiful region where grown on slopes on the French Alps. The wines are not that well known outside of France or even outside of Savoie. Jacquère has a good acidity, freshness and a nose of citrus and acacia.'' Britt Karlsson, Forbes.com
The Savoie is a picture of fairy-tale perfection: snow-capped peaks, rolling hills, and sparkling mountain streams. This idyllic region is where Michel Quenard farms twenty-two hectares of vineyards along the steep slopes around Chignin. The domaine was started in the 1930s by Michel's grandfather. Though he slowly increased his vineyard holdings, he mostly sold off his wine. It wasn’t until 1960 that Michel’s father, André, began bottling under their own label. Michel joined the domaine in 1976. Today, he is joined by his sons, Guillaume and Romain.
