Merlot is one of the first wine varieties ever grown and it continues to be a soft easy to drink wine. This Merlot has a beautiful earthy character on the nose, with soft berry fruits on the palate to compliment.
Variety: Merlot Vineyard: Mike Press Single Vineyard, Lobethal, Adelaide Hills Oak Maturation: Blend of American and French oak barrels Alcohol: 14.1% When: Drink now or cellar for 5 to 10 years Food: Merlot needs to be accompanied by some rich foods to help compliment the tannin structure in the wine. After working in the South Australian wine industry for over 40 years – from Penfolds under Max Schubert, to Seppelt, and finally to Mildara Blass as chief winemaker – Mike purchased the property in Kenton Valley, near Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills, in 1998. The family company has been proud to have set the benchmark for producing quality wine at an outstanding prices. What started out as an idyllic retirement plan for Mike and Judy Press, became a thriving business offering amazingly affordable wines to Australia and then to the world. In 2017, Bob and Yuko Harris, a couple who were just as passionate about wine and South Australia, purchased Mike Press Wines and continue the great legacy.
We offer free shipping to most of Australia for all orders over $199 or $12 flat rate for orders under. Some regional areas may incur an extra shipping charge which is calculated at checkout based on your postcode.
